I think my first ever Art Show was phenomenally successful!

It took many years of contemplation before I finally decided to do it.

For years my family and my friends were encouraging me to show it, but I was just a ‘chicken’…what can I say!  Finally, I ran out of wall space and then I decided, ‘what is there to lose?’

It didn’t even occur to me that I already have a gallery space, my office, where I do ‘Cosmetic’ Surgery!  What better place do I need?

So, once I committed to hosting my first Art Show, I selected the date: July 27th and July 28th.

Art is in the eye of the beholder…you do not need to be famous for someone to like it.  But the business of art has many different angles. I do not sell my art out of necessity, but I love for someone to ‘like’ my art. Due to the amount of interest in my work, I wanted to display my collection in one place and offer the general public an opportunity to own their very own, favorite piece.

I am very pleasantly surprised by the amount of interest and support! I estimate that about 200-225 people showed up for the show. Some people came from very far…as far away as from Argentina!

The production took a whole year of preparation. I wanted to offer my artwork as high-quality prints, which required numerous trips in order to bring my vast collection to and from Renaissance Imaging in Baton Rouge[1]. Here, they scanned each and every painting, large and small. Greg Doucet, I tell you, does a great job of reproducing my images in high-quality detail and great color Giclee Prints, that are ready to hang on the wall!  I have examined the prints myself, for the quality of the color match and lack of distortion from the originals. My customers agree they are excellent!!

Several originals and many prints were purchased at the show, some were even bought afterward from the online gallery![2]

I would like to sincerely appreciate everyone who took the time to come to my show.

Prints of my art are available for purchase online at the Appurao Art Gallery, which is listed below. I encourage any and all comments to be submitted via the ‘Contact Us’ link found on the Appurao Art Website.

Be sure to check back weekly for new posts! Coming soon, I will outline the step-by-step process of one of my paintings (with pictures)!
